Jalur Gunung Lio Salem Brebes Bag 2 : Gunung Lio - Banjarharjo Brebes - Cibingbin Kuningan

The Mount Lio Salem route in Brebes Regency, Central Java, was part of my journey to explore the alternative route to Cilacap and Kuningan. The Salem route connects Cilacap and Brebes regencies, boasting stunning natural scenery and extreme uphill and downhill terrain. The Salem route is often used as a homecoming route to avoid heavy traffic, especially on the main route from Brebes to Cilacap via Purwokerto to Bumiayu. The Lio Salem route is relatively quiet, and the Majenang-Salem alternative route is in good condition, despite its extreme terrain. The Majenang Salem route in this video is part of my journey after returning from Pangandaran to Bandung, taking a detour via Cilacap and Kuningan via the Mount Lio route in Brebes. I was intrigued by its beauty, especially now that the new Salem road, specifically the new Mount Lio route, has been built along the Majenang-Brebes route. Before passing the new Gunung Lio road, we'll first pass the Salem Majenang route, a provincial road with a winding, uphill path and a slightly narrow path, but wide enough for two cars to pass each other. Meanwhile, on the Salem Brebes route, only the Lio Brebes route is wider. After passing Salem Gunung Lio, the road narrows again until the center of Brebes on the north coast. The new Salem road on the Brebes Cilacap route passes through the mountains, resulting in quite cool weather and stunning views of Kuningan Regency, West Java. The Lio Brebes route borders Kuningan Regency, allowing direct access to West Java via the Gunung Lio Brebes route. This trip route starts from Majenang sub-district then turns towards Salem sub-district, Brebes Regency and passes the new Gunung Lio Salem Brebes road, the road contour from Majenang to the new Salem Gunung Lio road is mostly uphill and quite extreme, after passing the new road the trip continues through the old Gunung Lio route which is no less extreme than before, descending sharply and winding until arriving at Banjarharjo sub-district, Brebes Regency, Central Java, near the center of Banjarharjo sub-district there is a T-junction leading to Cibingbin Kuningan, West Java, the trip continues through the provincial road until arriving at the border of West Java and Central Java and entering Kuningan Regency and finishing in Cibingbin Kuningan sub-district. There are no gas stations on the Majenang Salem or Salem Majenang road, so before taking the Gunung Lio Salem route, prepare your vehicle's fuel. However, if you fill up your motorcycle or car's gas tank before entering the new Gunung Lio route, you'll reach your destination. The distance between the Gunung Lio Salem route from Majenang Cilacap and Brebes via the north coast road is only about 40-50 km. The Gunung Lio Salem route itself is approximately 15 km long, climbing Mount Lio and descending back to the lowlands. This road, called the Gunung Lio Brebes route, can be considered a mountain pass, especially on the new Gunung Lio Salem road. It feels like you're on a mountain peak with panoramic views from above.
