Myōhō Renge Kyō is the Japanese title of the Lotus Sūtra. The mantra is referred to as Daimoku and it was first revealed by the Buddhist Monk, Nichiren on the 28th day of the fourth lunar month of 1253 This mantra describes the conviction that we have within us the ability to overcome any problem or difficulty that we may encounter in life and a capacity to transform any suffering into benefit. The purpose of chanting Daimoku is to attain spiritual awakening and have actual proof of this practice for oneself and others in the validation of the power of The Lotus Sutra.
