The Son of Man Forbids Sectarianism (Luke 9:49 - 50) 2/10/2023

In this message we will learn: They forbade him for no better reason than that he was not one of their followers. In our churches today we have many church leaders stopping the calls of God on God chosen disciples lives for no other reason then, they do not fix into their plans. As leaders we have to understand its not you that calls anyone, God does the calling. God do not call the prepared He prepares the called. Some important takeaways from these scriptures are: 1.) This incident seems to illustrate the behavior which the Lord had just told the disciples to avoid., and 2.) Jesus said to him, "Do not forbid him, for he who is not against us is on our side." What is important to remember: If men are not for Christ, they are against Him. But then every disciple has to guard against this desire for exclusiveness - for a monopoly of spiritual power and prestige. This statement speaks for its self. As believers it’s seen so much in todays world. In terms of religion just because members are not apart of the denomination of our churches, if the are doing Gods work they are for God not for the denomination. Jesus Christ did not die for a religion, He die for the sins of every person that has and will ever lives on this earth.
