The 2023 MADAGASCAR Adventure Ride - Part 5 of 8

We continued up north along the coast of Madagascar, leaving Nosy Varika at dawn - it was going to be a long day on the bikes. The plan was to get to Vatomandry. We didn't make it that far. We followed one of the main roads in Madagascar, the infamous RN11. Long stretches of the road was sandy tracks and Jimmy, our guide, struggled to get through riding two up. To make it Nata had to walk and jog while Jimmy rode the bike alone. Freeriding at the savanna was many times better than riding on the road. The numerous ferry crossing was another odd but amusing experience taking some time. At sunset we found a hotel room in Mahanoro, 85 kilometers short of Vatomandry - distant we had to make up for the next day. Riding in the dark was not an option.
