Special Event 1999: Apple introduces Mac OS 9 and new iMac
On October 5, 1999 Steve Jobs and Phil Schiller introduced Mac OS 9 to developers and tech-journalists. Later he announced a new iMac and FireWire. The iMac was available that same day.
