King's Quest VI - Ways to Lose - Part 1 of 10 (OLD series)

I was so lucky to survive that awful storm last night. Now I can go back out there and look for my friends..." This is an attempt to exhaust all possible ways to lose in King's Quest VI. Part 1 is clips of Alexander drowning offshore of the Isle of the Crown, and then 11 ways to fail while dealing with the Isle of Wonder gnomes. I have opted to show only the results that specifically result in a Restore/Restart/Quit screen, although there are many other ways to make the game unbeatable (but not this early in the game). When I group several clips together, that means each of the clips has the same result from that point onward, and I show that result only on the last such clip. I call it "Ways to Lose" rather than "Ways to Die" because there are several ways to lose the game even though Alexander doesn't actually perish (same goes for KQ5). The possibilities are much harder to exhaust in this game than in King's Quest V. KQ5 had a few instances where multiple means would achieve the same result, but usually one method would trigger the full effect so I only had to show that one most of the time. In this game, however, it is often the case that each method has at least one line that is different from the alternatives. In this clip, the gnomes even say different things depending on whether you use the wrong object or just stand there like the dunce you are. Furthermore, there is a unique line for when Alexander plays the flute for Big Ears. I am not currently aware of any other items that trigger a unique losing response though. NOTE: The peppermint leaves do NOT have a unique effect on Big Mouth, positive or negative. It's just referred to as a generic "item" (and the gnome even says he doesn't like how it tastes!).
