Aranghot Shiva temple is ancient and belonged to the Valluvanaatt swarupam (Vallabhakshoni) of Mooshakavansa. Before the Vallabha swarupam was divided into its 4 branches. The eldest female member (Thamburatti) of the 4 branches is the owner , and she was designated as Kolathur (Kolathiri) Amma Thamburan (a male designation). The temple was given over to a committee after Land rennovations by the Ammathamburan. Koottilangadi Padinjattumuri Melthrikkovil Shiva temple was belonging to Kadukkur Nambiathiri. He was the commander in chief of Valluvakkonathiri. His head quarters was in Chelur Kotta. Before he was murdered by people of Zamorins he entrusted the temple to 4 brahmin illams.Kuruva gramam paang pisharikkal Durga is Rishiprathishta in samkalpa of Vaishnavvadurga.
