Chapter 5- Aguape Lodge, Pantanal, Brazil

On our 2022 trip to the Pantanal, Aguape Lodge was our only stop in the Southern Pantanal. We were there especially to see the Giant Anteater, a really unusual animal. Aguape Lodge didn't disappoint. We spent several hours with Giant Anteaters. In addition there is a Anteater Conservation program based at the lodge and we meet with an expert to better understand the animals and the challenges they face today. It addition there were an amazing array of birds in and around the lodge from Hyacinth Macaws, parrots and parakeets, Ibis, toucans and small tyrants and perching birds.
