Rock It Off!

“Rock It Off!” (Thank You to My Friends) is a song I wrote after going through an experience with online bullying from a stranger — someone who used words to try to bring me down while I was doing something I love. The song is ultimately about resilience: choosing not to absorb negativity and instead moving forward with strength, humor, and support from the people who matter. The original video was set in Brighton and has a fun, uplifting tone that reflects the idea of shaking off negativity and not allowing it to take root. In the end, I chose to “rock it off” and keep going — focusing on joy, creativity, and the friends who stand by me. All lyrics, vocal arrangements, and song structures are my original work. I used AI-generated vocals and prompts for AI-assisted music production. Rights owned by me as a Pro-Suno subscriber. © 2026 Elaine Wulff. All rights reserved. Lyrics: Verse 1 I was dancin’ in my living room, Singin’ loud to my favorite tune, Just havin’ fun, nothin’ to prove, Hit record just to share the groove Little laugh and a carefree song, Didn’t think nothin’ could go wrong, Just a moment I could give away— Hopin’ it might make somebody’s day Pre-Chorus Then a comment tried to steal my view, But I know what I’m gonna do… Chorus I’m gonna rock it off in the sunshine, Turn it up, let the good vibes play, Ain’t nobody gonna dim my light— And that “nobody” ain’t gonna stay Let it roll right off my back tonight, Like a wave just driftin’ away, You can call me anything you want— But that “nobody” ain’t gonna stay Verse 2 Saw a little of his story there, Empty rooms and a worn-out chair, Maybe he’s fightin’ ghosts I can’t see, But that don’t belong to me I won’t carry what he threw my way, I’ll drop it in the heat of a summer day, Let it melt like ice in a drink, Gone before I even blink Pre-Chorus Wish him well, then I set it free, And get back to being me Chorus I’m gonna rock it off in the sunshine, Turn it up, let the good vibes play, Ain’t nobody gonna dim my light— And that “nobody” ain’t gonna stay Let it roll right off my back tonight, Like a wave just driftin’ away, You can call me anything you want— But that “nobody” ain’t gonna stay Bridge I said, “Lord, thank You for the ones Who saw my heart when I felt undone,” Every friend who reached my soul, Helped me rise and let it go If you ever spoke a kind word true, Just know I’m singin’ this for you, You might not see the part you play— But you chased that “nobody” away Final Chorus I’m gonna rock it off in the sunshine, Laugh it off, let the music play, Every little dream I got inside Ain’t goin’ anywhere today Got some faith and a heart that’s strong, And a whole lot more to say, You can call me anything you want— But that “nobody” ain’t gonna stay Outro Rock it off, let it roll right by, Turn it up and don’t ask why, And that guy can rock off! Rock his comments off! Not today… not ever… no way
