[Artist Portrait] Omar Ba constructs a visual universe that blends political reality with a poetic spirituality. 🖌️ Omar Ba "photographs" everyday situations; these images form an iconographic library that he then incorporates into his paintings. Inspired by orality, storytelling, traditions, animism, and the transmission of knowledge, he delves into human history, more specifically colonial history, which continues to perpetuate inequalities and injustices. Through art, he corrects, rewrites, and repairs the imposed narrative to build a collective, conscious, and contextualized future.
