Depot Historic Collection - The Cruizin Diner: Classic Restos - Series 44

Fletch revisits Deniliquin and one of his all-time favourites The Depot Historic Collection. Where there has been a cool new addition in the form of The Cruzin Diner, it's a step back to the good old days of the 50s & 60s where particularly in the US, the diner culture was a part of everyday life. Now you can experience it all right here in Deni. With a menu of classic American diner food together with some Aussie favourites. In an authentic retro diner time capsule, with a perfect combination of classic cars, food and music. A beautiful tribute to the era and another excellent tourist destination for Deniliquin in NSW. The word is out that Fletch is in town at the Depot Historic Collection and motoring enthusiasts turn up for a chat with their favourite cars in tow. Baz with his 34 Hot Rod that he has owned for 28 years, it was pretty rough back then but looks the goods today with 455 Pontiac V8 upfront. Then Steve, with his mate Stu's 68 Dodge SuperBee muscle car, this is a beautiful example that boasts a matching engine number, which is very rare with these cars, that generally have had several engine swaps overtime. While the Cruzin Dinner is a significant new addition at the Depot, so are several new cars that are now on display. John talks through three of the latest additions, an HK Monaro that is in original condition and owned by a production line worker at the Holden plant, at the time. Next is a car from the US, a 1946 Buick Super Eight convertible, one of the first new models offered by Buick post WW2. And lastly a 1934 Rolls Royce 20/24 with Park Ward Coachwork that underwent a full-body restoration in the 90s. These great additions to the Depot Historic Collection and the new Cruzin Diner are now even more reason to head to Deniliquin when you get the opportunity.
