ATSF 3751 takes California Limited up Tehachipi

This is pure home recording as C.R. films trip up the Tehachipi pass, right hand side of the second car's vestibule. Most of the audio is picked up in left channel. We're on day three of the four day "California Limited," operated by the Santa Fe and the San Bernadino Railroad Historical Society. The 16 car train is leaving Bakersfield, headed to Barstow, CA. 3751’s first outing celebrated the 99th Anniversary of the California Limited. ATSF warbonnet FP45’s # 97 and #95 served as helpers. Video picks up with 3751 on the Caliente, CA curve and takes you through famed Tunnel 5 in real time. Tunnel 5 is where the Northern allegedly slipped, steam cleaning the roof of the tunnel and depositing soot all over the engines, first few cars and lucky vestibule riders.
