God of Our Fathers | Smith River Singers Full Performance

Join us to watch another powerful patriotic piece from our spring choral concert, "America the Beautiful," celebrating America's 250th anniversary. The song "God of Our Fathers" is a 19th-century American Christian hymn written in 1876 by Daniel C. Roberts for the 100th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. It was originally set to different music, but the popular, dramatic version with trumpet fanfare was composed in 1892 by George W. Warren as the "National Hymn". ---------- Arranged by: Mary McDonald Performed by: Smith River Singers Cover Image by: Daydream Photography Filmed & Edited by: Reach Studio Design ---------- About Us: Smith River Singers is a group of talented, non-audition volunteer singers from the Martinsville & Henry County area in Virginia.
