At Facebook coming up with the job title Production Engineer has been a way to change the way we think about the role that supports the engineering organisation to move fast while growing rapidly. There is a lot of overlap with between the concepts of DevOps and how we think about Production Engineering: decentralised empowered teams where we work together to achieve high performance and reliability at scale.
