Firstly we need to understand that what is menopause and how it effects on pregnancy? Female reproductive hormones are mainly secrets from two ovaries and when the ovaries stop their natural function then menopause occurs. Now the question arises that how pregnancy after menopause can be possible when no eggs and hormones are there. In those cases we need to take help of a generous woman, who is ready to donate her eggs to the infertile female. This treatment is known as IVF with ovum donation. In this treatment stimulation by hormonal injections are given to the egg donor to produce multiple eggs and then collection of the eggs through vagina is done. Simultaneously, sperm sample of husband of that menopausal woman is collected and fertilisation in laboratory is done to form embryos. Now the menopausal woman is being prepared for embryo transfer through various hormonal medicines and desired endometrial thickness achieved. IVF with donor eggs can be a hope for those patients who has already attended menopause but still childless.
