Turning right, we emerge onto Potemkinskaya Street—the same one that runs along the western side of the park and remembers the Cavalry Riding School and the St. Petersburg "rental" mansions of the turn of the century. Next comes Furshtatskaya. Its name comes from the old military term "furshtat" (regimental baggage train): in the early 19th century, the baggage train of the Life Guards Preobrazhensky Regiment was housed here. Today, the street is known for its diplomatic missions and beautiful mansions; Until 2018, the US Consulate General operated at 15 Furshtatskaya Street, closing it in response to the diplomatic crisis. On the corner of Furshtatskaya and Kirochnaya Streets stands the Lutheran Church of St. Anne (Annenkirche). Its fate is like a chronicle of the city: from a church to the Spartak Cinema, from a club space to the 2002 fire and its gradual return to the community.
