Empty words seem like a trifle, but they can hurt a person more deeply than a blow. Father Vasyl explains why idle talk destroys families, poisons society and wounds Christ himself. If parents say empty words, quarrel, choose phrases to hit each other more painfully, the child learns that words are worthless or that words should be used to hurt. And then we wonder why a generation is growing up that does not know how to speak in a way that builds up. The sermon sounds a very strong thought: words can create an atmosphere. This is exactly how the high priests incited people against Jesus. They tricked people, led them, gave them the words they needed — and the crowd was already shouting: “Crucify Him!” Words that are not from God can become the work of an evil spirit. The word of God creates. The word of God gives life. The word of God builds. And an empty, poisonous word destroys, poisons, shortens a person’s life, takes away peace and leaves wounds. Father Vasyl emphasizes: we must divide our vocabulary into words that build and words that destroy. Words that bring joy and words that bring sadness. Words that make a person want to live and words that make a person cry. Speak good words. Speak truthful words. Speak in such a way that after talking to you, a person says: “This is a good person. I want to talk to him.” But there is no need for false compliments and empty praise. God does not need grimaces. If you speak well, speak the truth. If you cannot say anything good, it is better to remain silent than to hurt. The main idea of ​​this sermon: do not be an empty person. Fill yourself with the word of God, the Gospel, truth and goodness, because empty people speak empty words, and God's people build with words.
