ここでは、日本の伝統芸能「能」の「籠太鼓」ダイジェスト映像をご覧いただきます。【撮影協力：代々木能舞台】http://www.yoyoginoubutai.com/ 代々木能舞台は国の有形文化財であり、東京唯一の野外舞台です。 九州松浦某の家人である関清次は、 松浦家家臣と口論の結果相手を殺めてしまう。 松浦某の命により入牢させられた清次は、 さらに牢を破り逃亡し姿を消してしまった。 この報を受け、松浦は清次の妻を捕え 身代りに入牢させた。 しかし、夫を思う妻は狂乱の態を見せ、 周囲への騒動の輪を広げてゆく。 そして自ら太鼓を打ちながら夫を偲び泣き崩れた。 狂女と成り果てた清次妻の不憫な様子に 心を動かした松浦は、清次夫婦の赦免を認める。 その言葉により妻は、清次の出奔先を松浦に明かす。 そして、妻も晴れて旅立つのであった。 ❖解説❖ 『籠太鼓』は、僅か一晩で展開する時間経過の中、 演じられる心理劇である 劇中に舞を織り込んではいるが、 主題は松浦と妻の問答による駆け引きであり、 清次妻と松浦の二人による真の狙いは 逃げた清次を周囲に納得させた上で、 赦免に持ち込むことであった。 妻の演じる狂乱は事件解決をはかりたい 松浦某にとっては賢婦の謀であったに違いない。 -　文　高橋　健　- Routaiko (Drum in Jail) Seki-no-Seiji, a retainer of the House of Matsuura in Kyushu, has had a quarrel with and killed a senior retainer of the House. Lord Matsuura imprisons Seiji, but Seiji breaks jail and runs away. In response,Lord Matsuura detains Seiji's wife in jail as Seiji's substitute. But she misses her husband and falls into insanity,spreading turmoil to those around her. She beats drum and collapses in tears out of longing for her husband. Feeling sympathy to the poor wife who has become an inside lady,Lord Matsuura decides to pardon her as well as Seiji. Hearing this from Lord Matsuura,the wifediscloses to him where Seiji is, and then leaves for Seiji's place. This play is a psychological drama which ends in just one night. Though dance is featured, the main theme of this play is the maneuvering in the form of dialogue between Lord Matsuura and Seiji's wife,both of whom were actually aiming to achieve a pardon to the runaway Seiji while convincing those around them.
