Lại Lý Huynh Và Tuyệt Sát Khiến Đại Sư Trung Quốc Vò Đầu Bứt Tai - Cờ Tướng Siêu Kinh Điển
Lai Ly Huynh and the Devastating Move That Left the Chinese Grandmaster Scratching His Head in Anguish - A Super Classic of Chinese Chess Before moving on to the tense, life-or-death battles of the 2026 New Thai Cup, please join us as we follow two representatives from Vietnam—Lai Ly Huynh and Nguyen Minh Nhat Quang—to another battleground stirring up the Chinese mainland. That is the 2026 Chess City Cup, still fiercely contested in the early summer months of late May. True to its name, the tournament is held in Chengdu, Sichuan—a place long revered by chess enthusiasts as the "Chess City," the sacred land of Chinese chess. There, chess is not just a game of victory and defeat, but has become an integral part of the cultural soul, much like swordsmanship in the martial arts world, and many world-renowned masters have emerged from here. This time, chess teams from across the ASEAN region gathered simultaneously, along with masters from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, creating an unprecedentedly large-scale tournament. Talented players converged, filling the arena with intense competition, plunging Chengdu into a tense atmosphere of anticipation for the grand finale. The tournament format was incredibly brutal. Twenty groups were established for a knockout system, each round a life-or-death struggle, selecting only the thirty-two strongest to advance to the finals. Lai Li Huynh and the top eight masters from China were given special permission to advance directly to the final round, a testament to their prestige among the chess community. But from that moment on, all advantages vanished. The remaining thirty-two players continued on the bloody path of elimination. There were no safe draws. If the standard chess game ended in a draw, it would immediately switch to rapid chess. If the outcome was still undecided, blitz chess would be used to decide the winner. The battle continues… until only one person remains standing at the top of the chessboard. Therefore, this year's Chess City Cup is considered by experts to be no less impressive than the annual Asian Championship in terms of scale and quality. It not only brings together the strongest players, but is also a battlefield where all glory must be earned through skill. The opening game showed tension, as Lai Ly Huynh—the reigning world champion and national treasure of Vietnamese chess—faced a renowned player from mainland China: Tai Yi. Speaking of Tai Yi, those in the chess community know him as a player who achieved fame very early. Born in 1984 in Beijing, he holds the title of national grandmaster and has competed in numerous major and minor tournaments in China. Since the early 20th century, Tai Yi has led Beijing to victory in national team championships, and has repeatedly stepped onto the podium at the Wuyang Cup and other prestigious chess king tournaments. Tai Dat's style wasn't overly flashy, but each move was as skillful and ruthless as a swordsman who had fought in countless bloody battles. He understood the endgame, patiently waited for the opportune moment, and unleashed a deadly attack at the slightest opening revealed by his opponent. This was Tai Dat's chess prowess, as described by the smiling Buddha of chess from Thien Hong. On the opposite side was Lai Ly Huynh. The current world champion of Vietnam was like a divine sword at its sharpest point. After a series of international battles, Huynh's reputation had soared. The Chinese chess community understood very well – this was no longer the Vietnamese player who had come to learn, but a formidable opponent capable of making anyone wary. -------------------------------------------------------- Please join as a member via this link: / @cotuongdamme_official There are 3 membership levels: 1.
