Endless Dismal Moan Interview (2006) [The Lunar Hypnosis Archives]

The following interview was originally conducted, via email, and posted on Lunar Hypnosis on May, 27th, 2006. Endless Dismal Moan, the solo project of Takuya Tsutsui (aka Chaos9), was a unique entity that conjured up truly nightmarish black metal. The feeling of his music is that of being in the head of a complete lunatic and living through all of their worst nightmares. Seriously the riffs in this thing send shivers up and down my spine, the hairs on my arm stand up and quiver, and as I continue on listening I feel my very thoughts might betray me to do something wicked. Amongst these calamitous chords are brutally programmed drums that at no point sound human, but more like some sort of futuristic death contraption hooked up to my psyche, plus with eerie synth that brings me back to the first Emperor album, random piano tinkling and vocals, which are high pitched throat lacerating screams of agony. Sometimes raw vicious black metal, sometimes doomy and ambient, but always something beyond simple description, Endless Dismal Moan was outstanding!
