37 2 3 Through the Bible with Les Feldick Unsearchable Riches Of Christ: Ephesians 3:8-21

Ephesians 3:11 "According to the eternal purpose which he (the God of verse 10) purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:" Now that's not the end of the sentence, but I'm going to stop there for a minute, and I'm going to have you turn with me to II Timothy chapter 1. I'm going to hone in on verse 9, but I want to begin in verse 7, and lead up to what Paul says in verse 9. II Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind..." Now that brings up a question that I don't have time to deliberate here. Should believers ever have mental problems? I'm not saying could they, but should they? No, we really shouldn't. I know it's a possibility, but really we shouldn't have mental problems. We should never be plagued with depression, which is one of the forerunners of a lot of mental problems. Because what have we got going for us? And we've got it so good here in America. Last night, for some reason I just wasn't sleeping very well, I was thinking of those poor people in Yugoslavia, and Albania, and we're so spoiled. I've told my classes over the years, and it's almost my every morning prayer, "Lord I know I'm spoiled."
