Utah Cutthroat Slam - All 4 Subspecies in One Day! - Fly Fishing for Utah's Native Cutthroat Trout

Hey everyone! Here is a video that is a little different than anything else I've ever posted on the channel, a fly fishing video! Besides FJ Cruisers and trains, I also really enjoy fly fishing. So I wanted to document my journey as I attempted to complete my second Utah Cutthroat Slam. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments. Here is a link to their website though if you were wondering what it was: https://www.utahcutthroatslam.org/ The Utah Cutthroat Slam was started back in 2016 and is meant to highlight the efforts and success of the Utah Division of Wildlife resources and Trout Unlimited in restoring/preserving Utah's 4 native cutthroat subspecies. Here in Utah we have Bonneville, Bear River, Colorado River, and Yellowstone cutthroat subspecies, so by registering for the Cutthroat Slam, anglers then have the challenge of finding and catching all 4 of these fish is whatever native waters they can be found in, whether that be in lakes, rivers, or streams. You have your whole lifetime to complete the slam, there's no rush. But I decided to really push myself and do what few others have done, complete a slam in a day! At the time of this video being posted, nearly 1,000 people have completed the Utah Cutthroat Slam, and for me this is actually my second time doing so! Lots of research went into figuring out where these fish are found and which places would be the best for attempting this slam. I recommend studying the map provided on the Utah Slam website. I'd like to thank Brett, Loren, Tom, and others for the advice given to me about where they recommended I go as it proved to be invaluable information that led me to this successful day!
