What I Use Instead of Weedkiller (And Why It Works Better)

Now is a great time to get stuck into weeding your garden. This time of year, perennial weeds are young and the ground is often damp making it easier to get them out. In this video I show you how to banish them from every part of your garden without using weedkiller. First of all I show you how to identify common weeds and the basic tools you need to get them out of the garden. Starting with beds and borders, where weeds will compete with your favourite plants, I show you how to use a border spade to remove them, roots and all, so they don't return. I also reveal how, by adding a thick layer of mulch and a weed proof membrane on to a border thats free of weeds, you prevent them from growing in the first place. Just as frustrating are weeds that grow in between patio slabs and through your gravel paths and driveways. I have a neat trick for getting them out as well.
