Dr. Asael Abelman and Dr. Hanoch Gamliel wrote a book called "From All Languages," which deals with the history of Hebrew. In the interview, Dr. Abelman argues that Jewish communities in the Diaspora who observed the commandments and customs but did not speak Hebrew eventually assimilated into other cultures. He explains the revival of Hebrew as a rare phenomenon, in which an ancient language became a spoken language again. Dr. Abelman refers to Herzl's words in his book "The Jewish State," where he argued that there was no need for a common language and that everyone should speak their mother tongue. He explains that Herzl did not perceive the importance of Hebrew as a means of strengthening national solidarity. In addition, Dr. Abelman discusses the role of first-generation youth in the Land of Israel and the influence of leaders such as Ben-Gurion and Jabotinsky on the revival of Hebrew. He notes that Jabotinsky, despite growing up in Odessa, chose to write his poems in Sephardic Hebrew with the understanding that it was more suitable for the Land of Israel. Dr. Abelman argues that the process of the revival of Hebrew demonstrates the organic connection between Zionism and Jewish history, contrary to the claims of historians such as Arnold Toynbee.
