Minnesota Central Railway Remnants – Fort Snelling to Mendota
Many people stop and visit Fort Snelling State Park in Minnesota; it is a beautiful spot. However, most people do not know there was a railroad line that passed through the park, running from Fort Snelling to Mendota. In 2024, there were still remnants of this old line in the park, which started out as the Minnesota Central Railway. Essentially, a person could walk right by them on the park’s extensive trail system. Ultimately, if you know what to look for, some of these remnants are right in front of your eyes.
