【四国 車遍路】別格二十霊場 第三番 慈眼寺 | 弘法大師が水行をした灌頂ヶ滝(かんじょうがたき)

We're taking the Shikoku Pilgrimage by car. This time, we're visiting the "Shikoku Bekkaku Twenty Sacred Sites." The "Shikoku Bekkaku Twenty Sacred Sites" are special sacred sites that bear the footsteps of Kobo Daishi (Kukai), and are made up of a group of 20 temples located in Shikoku. When the "Shikoku Bekkaku Twenty Sacred Sites" are added to the "Shikoku 88 Sacred Sites," the total comes to 108. As these are the same as the "108 earthly desires" of humans, it is recommended that people visit both sacred sites together, as it is a way to "eliminate these desires." This video shows the third sacred site, Jigenji Temple. When Kobo Daishi discovered a mysterious limestone cave and performed a ritual, an evil dragon appeared, but he sealed it away with his spiritual powers. He then carved a statue of the Eleven-Faced Kannon and built a hall to house it, marking the beginning of this temple. The word "kancho" in Kanjogataki (Kanjo Falls) refers to a ritual performed by water. The waterfall is known as the place where Kobo Daishi performed a ritual.
