A vida na 7ª maior cidade do Ceará! | Conheça o CRATO!
Have you ever visited the city of Crato? What to do in Ceará? Do you know the city where Padre Cícero was born? Did you know that the Araripe-Apodi National Forest is the first FLONA created by the Brazilian government? Let's get to know the city of Crato together, in the south of Ceará, about 516 km from the capital Fortaleza. Like much of the territory surrounding the Chapada do Araripe, Crato also developed during the colonial period, when outsiders noticed the beauty that was before their eyes. And the highlight is the Araripe-Apodi National Forest, the first FLONA created by the Brazilian government. Our first stop is at the Araripe National Forest, which covers an area of almost 40 thousand hectares. Its contours are shaped by a zone where the Caatinga meets the Cerrado and the Atlantic Forest, which is of great importance in maintaining the climatic and ecological balance of Araripe. The region has become a vital sanctuary for the preservation of biodiversity in the territory and is home to a wealth of fauna and flora. Continuing our journey, we reached the Crato Waterfall, an enchanting 12-meter-high waterfall located approximately 5 km from the city center; a true paradise for residents who have this landscape close to home. We also saw the statue of Our Lady of Fátima, inaugurated in 2014 to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the city. For comparison purposes, its 45 meters in height surpasses monuments such as Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, which is 38 meters high, and that of Padre Cícero in neighboring Juazeiro do Norte, which is 27 meters high. #Crato #Ceará #Araripe ===================== WHO IS MATHEUS BOA SORTE? I am passionate about the cultural traditions of the Brazilian Northeast. To be more specific, the backlands, which I believe are much more than just a corner of Brazil where there is little rain. For me, the backlands are feelings, states of mind, of those who carry within themselves a smile, faith, persistence, courage and a little bit of mischief. I am an advertising professional by academic training, and I pay my bills through art. I am a singer, composer, writer, speaker, educator, actor, TV host, radio host... A lot, right? But I can sum it all up in just one job: I AM A STORYTELLER.
