Deputy State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro and the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) delivered statements following the execution and eviction of the former Sultan Hotel in the GBK area on Thursday (June 18, 2026). Juri admitted that the hotel's execution proceeded despite several untoward incidents. The Sultan Hotel execution process was marred by chaos, with police and Indonesian Army (TNI AD) personnel on the front lines being pushed back by sympathizers. Protesters opposing the execution threw stones, mineral water bottles, and even long bamboo poles at officers and media covering the event. Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Budhi Hermanto, stated that his team had arrested 69 people who had attempted to obstruct the execution.
