Knox Mountain Hill Climb 2026 1:48.965

Knox Mountain Hill Climb was a bit different this year. Driving Norman Haytons 8th Gen Civic day 1 and Jennifer Ockers GD Subaru day 2. The Civic is a thrill to drive and I appreciate the opportunity to drive with Norm, Norm is a fantastic coach and mentor. This GD STI once again got the better of me. After a very comfortable lap 1(6 tenths) up the mountain (1:50.8xxx) The car felt balanced and controllable at 26 psi of boost. Lap 2 was now time to push to 8 tenths. It all comes undone at turn 8. The car understeers but I bring it around, by turn 9, I brake, turn in but the car just plows. We suspect a flat tire. The thumbnail is from Turn 7 of that lap. After removing the damaged splitter, swapping out 2 damaged rims and a string alignment on uneven ground, I was again given the opportunity to drive up the mountain a third time. I drove this lap at 7 tenths. The car understeers significantly due to the splitter being removed. Overall it was good enough for 2nd place 1:48.9. I don't know what next year will bring but I look forward to it. Congratulations to Roger on his crazy fast time in his custom Hayaboosta. My brother Aaron in his lightning fast 07 STI(1:49.3), next year we will return with slicks and push that car to the win. I'm pleased to be apart of its development and evolution. We will rebuild!
