Soulfly is a Brazilian nu-metal band founded by Max Cavalera in 1997 after he decided to leave his first band Sepultura. The band is characterized by its use of tribal influences, death metal, thrash metal and more classical music forms. Soulfly has had a series of line-ups since its inception in 1997. The band's last line-up (2021) consists of Max Cavalera (singer and rhythm guitar), Mike Leon (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Zyon Cavalera (drums).
