COOKS RIVER BREAM FISHING ON THE HOBIE LYNX

In this session I head out on the Cooks River in the Hobie Lynx to chase Bream on lures. It was my first time fishing in a kayak on the Cooks river and i had only been here once before in a tinnie 20 years ago chasing Jew fish. I had heard a lot about the Cooks but never made it there to see for myself. After sorting out a park I launched into the system and headed for the main bridge closest to the mouth of Botany Bay. I tried a number of lures. The Aqua Bream Prawn, The Rapala creeper, The Muss and a squidgy but did not get a touch, so I headed upstream to the first bridge to see if there were fish on it. The oyster growth on the pylons is huge and they bulge out almost a metre from the pylons so it was always going to be challenging to fish. Early in the session a North Easterly wind picked up which was the opposite direction to the tide making it a bit challenging to hold in place. After casting a few lures I changed over to the Baby Vibe and hooked up to a small fish straight away. I then hooked up to a 31 fork fish which i landed and that started the session. All up I landed 5 Bream. Four on the Bay Vibe (mussel colour) and one on the Cranka Crab heavy in Olive. As the wind continued to pick up I had a look down one of the other arms but decided to call it a day. Great little session in a new area for me and I was happy to land five legal Bream. Hope you enjoy this one. If you love fishing, Kayak fishing, Boat Fishing or Land based fishing along with Camping and the great outdoors. This channel is for you.
