Monkey Jungle Full Tour - Miami, Florida
Monkey Jungle is a one of a kind eco-show park and discovery center established in 1935 in a natural subtropical forest in southern Miami-Dade County. The Jungle wildlife live here much as they would in their native habitats, joining and interacting with your Guides during our regularly scheduled Eco-Shows. Guests, students and scientists young and old all experience unique up-close encounters with these amazing creatures. Now in its third generation of family ownership, Monkey Jungle remains one of the truly timeless entertainment and nature venues in South Florida. In addition to our eco-show based experiences for audiences, we're a venue for community-based special events and scientific and educational programs hosted by the DuMond Conservancy for Primates & Tropical Forests, our non-profit affiliate. Amazonian Rainforest The monkeys that live here roam as they please – with no direct control by humans. Visitors, students and researchers can observe monkeys behaving as they would in the wild, without having to travel to distant lands. This makes our Rainforest a great place for scientific study and training ground for young scientists and conservationists. Some of the many studies conducted here have received international attention. Three species of monkeys reside in the Monkey Jungle Rainforest... SQUIRREL MONKEYS The most abundant monkey in our Rainforest are the squirrel monkeys. About 125 of them live here. These little guys have made Monkey Jungle internationally famous in the scientific community. BLACK-CAPPED CAPUCHINS They are the largest type of monkey found in our rainforest and as the name Black-capped indicates, they have black tufted fur on their heads. Howler Monkeys The howlers have their name owing to their loud vocalalizations. Actually, it sounds more like a roar than a howl and it's a territorial call that a males in particular makes to tell the other animals in the forest that the forest is his territory. Wild Monkey Swimming Pool Java Macaques are native to southeast Asia. At Monkey Jungle these monkeys inhabit a 7-acre forest and live much as they do in their native habitats. Explore their territory then see them wade into the pond for treats. If you're lucky...you'll see them skin dive! _________________________________________________________________ Subscribe To My Channel For More Great Videos Like This / tomsroadtrippin Send Me Mail Tom's Road Trippin 19046 Bruce B.
