Orange crushes and historic mansions in lovely Laurel, Delaware

After stopping at Lakeside Greenhouses and Davelli's Bagel Cafe, Chris and Crystal meandered around the historic Broad Creek neighborhood in lovely Laurel, Delaware. Rosemont, built circa 1772, was once the home of Revolutionary War patriot and Delaware governor Nathaniel Mitchell. The nearby Hitchens Homestead complex is home to several historic buildings including the Twilley House (1878) and the earlier Mill-Hand House. Both properties are owned by the Laurel Historical Society and open for free tours on the first Sunday of each month, May through November 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
