Under the hood is a 225 hp turbocharged gasoline engine. It is paired with a six-speed Aisin automatic transmission. The turbocharger, like the transfer case, is from BorgWarner. The Rexton lineup also includes a diesel engine, but we won't be able to import these vehicles. Due to its 2.2-liter displacement, the recycling fee for such an engine will be three times higher. However, don't worry. The Rexton performs very well with the gasoline engine, while consuming little fuel. On average, it consumes just over 11 liters per 100 km. With a diesel, it's unlikely to be much lower. Considering the difference in vehicle prices and fuel costs, a compression-ignition engine is unnecessary. The all-wheel drive is part-time, meaning the front axle is connected rigidly. A low-range gear is also available. Combined with a respectable ground clearance of 21 cm, this makes the KGM Rexton a true off-roader. The Rexton excels not only off-road but also on unpaved roads. The suspension is robust and difficult to puncture. On smooth surfaces, the KGM Rexton is also quite good. It's stable and reliable. It doesn't require any corrections in a straight line, which is sometimes the case with frame SUVs. The soundproofing deserves special praise. Noise levels, especially at high speeds, are surprisingly low for a frame SUV.
