Unveiling of the Memorial Plaque at "The Laurels" - Sunday 14th June 2026

We were honoured to have the Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr. Fergal Dennehy unveil a plaque in memory of the Hegarty Family. Members of the extended Hegarty family and so many friends gathered at the house for the unveiling ceremony and it was a very proud moment as the plaque was revealed. We are so grateful to the owners of "The Laurels" for giving us permission to add the memorial plaque to the house. It is a lasting reminder of the contribution and sacrifices the Hegarty's and so many other families made during the War of Independence and Civil War. Sincere thanks to Stonemason, Tom Little for designing and crafting this beautiful memorial plaque for the Hegarty Family. Special thanks to Ryan Dineen for recording this special event for us.
