My guest MILKA GETICHA was born and raised in Nairobi before moving to Meru for high school. Growing up, she never got the opportunity to learn Ekegusii because both her parents and grandfather mostly communicated in English. Since late 2025, she made a personal decision to start learning and speaking Ekegusii. It has not been easy, but she keeps trying every single day. Sadly, some people who do not know her story have been quick to judge and make discouraging comments. But one thing stands out — courage. Learning a language as an adult takes humility, consistency, and determination. Milka continues to improve day by day, and that effort deserves encouragement, not mockery.
