Yamagata Masakage (1524–1575), originally known as Obu Masakage, was one of the most renowned military commanders of the Takeda Shingen during Japan's turbulent Sengoku period. His fearsome reputation on the battlefield, distinctive crimson armor, and exceptional leadership earned him a place among the legendary Twenty-Four Generals of Takeda Shingen. Even centuries later, he remains one of the most recognizable samurai commanders in Japanese military history.
