Why Bushings Matter [On 3pt Attachments]

n this video I share a story when I didn’t use bushings when attaching my new Frontier RC2072 rotary cutter to the John Deere 4044m using the John Deere iMatch Quick Hitch. I have had a SpeedCo Quick Hitch before and never had these problems but with the John Deere you MUST use bushings or your attachment will disconnect while using. When this happened to me while working on the John Deere 4044m my mower fell into the pond and I bent the PTO shaft. All of this could have been avoided if I just would have added bushings to the 3pt attachment. In this video, I go into a little more detail about how this happened and I try and repair my PTO shaft. To do that I need to remove the plastic cover from my tractor’s PTO shaft which turned out to be the most challenging part. By watching this video I hope you don’t make the same mistake I did. Enjoy
