Oh If I’d Listened Sooner

Sometimes wounded humans make permanent decisions while temporarily blinded by hurt, fear, exhaustion, pride, loneliness, or anger. This song is for anyone who has ever looked back and whispered: "If only I'd listened sooner..." "If only I'd slowed down..." "If only I'd loved better..." Scripture never hides the humanity of imperfect people. David faced heartbreaking consequences from painful choices (2 Samuel 12). Moses spoke out of frustration and later felt the weight of that moment (Numbers 20:10–12). Peter acted impulsively and later wept bitterly over his failure (Luke 22:61–62). Jonah struggled with anger and mercy (Jonah 4:1–11). Maybe that's why humility matters so deeply to our Heavenly Father — because wounded humans sometimes make permanent decisions while temporarily blinded by hurt, fear, exhaustion, pride, loneliness, or anger. This isn't a song about condemning others. It's a quiet prayer from imperfect people learning humility through hindsight, grief, faith, and mercy. "For if our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts and knows all things." — 1 John 3:20 If this song met you at just the right moment, Feel free to share it with someone who might need it too.
