Cheltenham Level Crossing

Sunday August 26 2012 at 11.04. The 9.28 Derby to Bristol (11.52) train shortly before pulling into Cheltenham Spa station. This is Alstone Lane Cheltenham. There was flooding here in 2007 and long before that an inquest was held into the death of the crossing keeper (the details of which are stored in an unreadable format). After filming the nice short wait at this crossing, I turned the van around to get to the next one and arrived back here 3 minutes later when the barriers were already down and 4 cars were waiting. The film of that wait is over 8 minutes long for 1 passenger and 1 freight train by which time there were lots of disgruntled pedestrians and cars waiting. I notice that the signal box windows have mesh guards over them.
