Broken Sword: The Shadow Of The Templars - Reforged: Part 10

This wraps up our visit to Lochmarne, never to return! After Fitzgerald's demise, the main things are to retrieve the package he dropped and then get into the hidden chamber in the castle. I started off finding out that the beer was off - it's quite funny finding out how drunk George is - and also chatted to the regulars again, alas for Fitzgerald, it doesn't sound like they're in a rush to save him. But the main thing is to show Leary the electronics pass in order for him to let you into the cellar. This is via dangerously 'fixing' the glass washer - his intention is to get you to fix the pumps but even if you wanted to, you can't actually access them down there. Other than the rubbish, and the water, there is very little of interest in that cellar. Of course, the main reason for them being broken is the cover being smashed off the panel outside the bar, then us flipping and breaking the switch.... In the process of all this happening, we do also meet Khan, but it's an entirely automated bit of dialogue at this stage. Anyway, the main thing to do is get a towel full of water, then use it on the plaster. Putting it into the wall reveals the hidden chamber - there isn't really much to see beyond a big picture of a hanged man at Montfaucon, then we're back in Paris. I do recall that if you didn't switch off the tap, it does flood Leary's cellar, and I decided to be responsible this time, but it can trigger a funny bit of dialogue. At this point, the game forks in two directions - the Lobineau route, and the Rosso route. You need to do both, and I go with Lobineau first, getting a good lot of background from him and a promise to investigate the manuscript at Rue Jarry. Following his lead, you can then go to Montfaucon and have a look around, but it's a dead end right now. I look at everything but you can't do much here for a little while yet. The Rosso fork will take us to the hospital, and we'll do that next time.
