How To Change the Rear Differential Fluid on a 2023-2026 Chevy Colorado| Water Crossing Maintenance

Today we’re changing the rear differential fluid on my 2024 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss at just under 30,000 miles! After a few water crossings and off-road trips, I wanted to play it safe and service the rear diff to make sure there wasn’t any water intrusion hiding inside. In this video I: • Drop the spare tire for access • Remove the differential cover • Inspect the fluid for water contamination & metal • Clean the diff housing and reusable gasket • Refill with OEM AC Delco 75W-80 gear oil • Torque everything back to spec • Talk about future upgrades like the AEV diff cover Thankfully there were no major metal chunks or serious contamination, but this was still great peace of mind maintenance for the Colorado after off-road use. If you own a 2023 or 2024 Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon, or Trail Boss and plan on hitting trails, mud, or water crossings, this is definitely maintenance worth considering.
