Tuva Ensemble, in B&W from Tuvan State Television, circa 1988/90. 1. Dueling jews harps (Khomustar). 5 different kinds of jews harp (khomus) are played here; 2. Ögbeler. The first khomus player is Kaigal-ool Khovalyg, we also see Stas Danmaa, Kongar-ool Ondar, Boris Kherlii, and Ivan Saryglar, each playing a different type of khomus. Five types of Tuvan khomus are played: söösken khomus (made of mountain rose-willow), tyarti khomus (made from a flat chip of wood), daya khomus (made of honeysuckle tree), sheler khomus (made of bamboo), demir khomus (made of iron).
