This title, called "wor w zakonie" (Thief in the Order), is awarded by the council of elders after nine months of surveillance. It is currently held by 439 people worldwide in Interpol databases. The hero of this story began as a nineteen-year-old Georgian with a 149-euro ticket on a Wizz Air flight from Kutaisi to Warsaw and a mattress in an apartment in Praga-Północ next to three men whose names no one told him.
