Trains at: Liverpool South Parkway, WCML, 06/04/19

A very enjoyable afternoon spent at Liverpool South Parkway located on the West Coast Mainline and the branch line from Liverpool to Manchester where we see plenty of services from Virgin Trains, London Northwestern Railway, Northern and East Midlands Trains. Liverpool South Parkway station was completed and opened in 2006, nearly 30 years overdue as the plans had been put in place and discussed years beforehand to help try and get passengers from Liverpool John Lennon airport into the city itself. They couldn't do a direct line into Lime Street so they had to create a new station to enable a link to be created. The station itself sits on the former sight of the old Allerton station which was closed in 2005 and demolished to make way for the new station. There really isn't much else to tell about this station. Joining me today was trainspottingtv. My next station will be Chester.
