Porto's was created by Rosa Porto (a Cuban American immigrant) who started the first restaurant in 1976 on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park. Today there are several additions in southern California. One of the most visited is in Buena Park near Knott's Berry Farm. This restaurant 1976, Rosa opened her first official storefront, Porto's Bakery on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park, California and uses premium ingredients to serve cakes and pastries and also features a cafe and coffee bar.
