The small town of Calitzdorp, which is very proud of it's port, is in a very arid, dry area of the Karoo. Yet it has a thriving agriculture due to clever irrigation schemes, and for a small town, has quite a lot to see. Art gallery, museum, nature walks, nurseries, restaurants, BnBs, pubs, Glass studio - and lots more.Quite an interesting place to visit. Then there is the Huis river pass just outside town, which has been chiselled through the mountains to get across the Gamka and Huis rivers. A very cool drive!
