Our brand new 2026 Ram 3500 Mega Cab 4x4 Laramie went into limp mode at only 1,600 miles after a major DEF system failure, resulting in a massive warranty repair and completely shaking our confidence in this truck. We bought this Ram 3500 dually specifically to tow our new Brinkley 5th wheel, but after multiple problems including DEF warnings, random check engine lights, limp mode, and active recalls involving trailer brakes and trailer lighting, we felt it was time to share our honest 7 month ownership experience. With our house closing in just a few weeks and our Brinkley G3970 already waiting for us, we’re installing our Gen Y hitch and preparing for our first major tow despite serious concerns about reliability.
