For decades, Marine Corps equipment accountability has relied on paper record jackets, manual inventories, and time-intensive administrative processes. While these methods have supported readiness for years, today's operational environment demands faster access to information, greater visibility, and smarter decision-making. ItemEyes is a digital solution developed through a partnership between Marine Wing Communications Squadron 28 (MWCS-28) and the Marine Corps Software Factory, transforming how Consolidated Memorandum Receipts (CMRs), inventories, and equipment accountability are managed across the force. This video tells the story behind ItemEyes, from identifying operational friction at the tactical level to Marines working side-by-side with software developers to build a solution designed by Marines, for Marines. More than an application, ItemEyes demonstrates how innovation can begin at the unit level and scale across the Marine Corps when operational experience and software development come together.
