This is the Goroka Show for 2025, presented along with information about Papua New Guinea. Please see the playlist for a series of related videos. PNG Japan Co., Ltd. I obtained my visa at the PNG Embassy in Japan for 6000 yen. Visa agencies are also available. Many people I met locally had e-visas. It seems that the e-visa process took quite a long time for some, so it's best to apply well in advance. Also, an English-language bank statement is required for the e-visa. It seems that these were issued at post offices or major banks. Arrival visas seem to have been reinstated from December 2025, but visa regulations change frequently, so it's necessary to check each time. There are currency exchange offices and ATMs at Port Moresby Airport, with an exchange rate of K1 = 37.8 yen. There are also SIM card shops that set them up on the spot. However, it didn't work in Goroka. Those who prepared SIM cards from Japan also had trouble with Goroka. It seemed like there was no connection. I asked someone who bought a SIM card in Goroka, and they said it was K10 (380 yen) for 5GB, cheaper than buying one at Port Moresby airport, and more importantly, it works in Goroka! It's a good idea to download an offline map app like maps.me for when you can't connect to the internet. Credit cards: VISA and Mastercard were accepted at the hotel, but they were unreliable and sometimes required several attempts to work, so it's best to have several cards. American Express was not accepted. It's a malaria-prone area, so be sure to take thorough insect repellent measures. The security situation is poor, so take thorough precautions against theft. Regarding the temperature, September, when the show takes place, is the dry season. Goroka is located at a high altitude, so it's cool in the mornings and evenings, but you can wear short sleeves during the day. Even though it's the dry season, it did rain. Tickets for the Goroka show can be purchased at "Bird" in the city center. I bought my ticket at the Bird of Paradise Hotel. You can buy tickets on the day of your visit. I think this is probably the only place that sells tickets. Foreigners can buy a 3-day VIP ticket that allows entry from the morning for K200 (7,600 yen). In the afternoon, there was a line of locals waiting to get in.
